Founded in Anaheim, California, by a team of engineers and product specialists, OMTech was created to make professional-grade technology more approachable. What started with advanced laser systems has expanded into a broader ecosystem of tools for modern makers. Where We Started

Empowerment. Innovation. Accessibility. These values are at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to make quality machines accessible for everyone, allowing makers to turn their passion into something more. 

Our founder, a mechanical engineer with a passion for design and music, had one mission: to start a business making custom guitars and other instruments using laser engravers and cutters. While searching for the right machine to achieve his goals, he discovered an issue: the expensive costs and overwhelming size of laser engravers in the US often kept this technology out of reach for everyday creators and small businesses. 

As an aspiring entrepreneur, he quickly realized he wasn’t alone. Many makers and innovators faced the same challenges: steep startup costs and a lack of accessible support made it difficult to break into the laser engraving world. So, he shifted his focus. Instead of building a business around custom instruments, he set out to build something even bigger—laser machines that were affordable, compact, and built for creators like him.

After years of research, testing, and feedback, we launched our first product—the K40 Desktop Laser Engraver—alongside the earliest version of our Maker Series. Since then, we’ve expanded our product line beyond lasers and reached creators across the globe—but we remain grounded in our original purpose: to make professional-quality technology accessible to all who are ready to create.

Transitioning From OMTech Laser to OMTech 

Before there was OMTech, there was OMTech Laser (omtech.com)—a company focused on the laser industry. As our community grew, we realized that creators weren’t just working with lasers—they were building full product lines that included apparel, printed goods, signage, and more.

So, we expanded. And dropped the Laser.

Today, OMTech operates at omtech.com, bringing together laser systems, embroidery machines, DTF printers, and UV printing solutions under one ecosystem. This makes it easier for businesses to design, produce, and customize products without juggling multiple vendors. And with readily available US-based support, we’re here to help make things easier.

In support of broader causes, we partnered with the Susan G. Komen® Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, donating $4,000 to help fund research, education, and outreach. It's one of many steps we're taking to give back in meaningful ways.
