Everything You Need to Know Before You Print
Clear answers to help you choose, set up, and grow with the right Aurora D1 configuration.
Aurora is designed to reduce common white ink maintenance interruptions. It automatically circulates and stirs white ink, while scheduled printhead cleaning and moisturizing run every 12 hours. When kept powered on and properly maintained, standby protection supports up to two weeks between production runs—helping keep your printer better prepared for the next order.
Choose Aurora D1 for custom orders, smaller batches, or bringing DTF production in-house at a lower starting investment. Choose Aurora D1 Pro for growing order volumes, with dual Epson I1600 printheads and output up to 50 sq. ft./hr. Start with the capacity you need today, with room to handle more as orders increase.
Choose Printer Only if you already have compatible powdering and curing equipment. Choose a Shaker & Dryer Bundle for a more connected roll-to-roll workflow that handles powder application, excess powder removal, curing, and continuous film output after printing—helping reduce hands-on production steps.
To complete the DTF workflow, you will need a compatible Windows computer, DTF RIP software, DTF textile ink, PET transfer film, hot melt powder, and a heat press. Printer Only configurations require a separate powdering and curing solution, while Bundle configurations include the Shaker & Dryer for a smoother post-print workflow.
Both Aurora D1 and D1 Pro support printing up to 15 inches wide, giving you room for full-size apparel graphics, flexible gang sheet layouts, and roll-fed production. Aurora D1 reaches up to 11 sq. ft./hr., while the dual-head D1 Pro reaches up to 50 sq. ft./hr. for larger batches and faster turnaround.
Aurora supports transfers for both light and dark fabrics using CMYK and white ink. With the correct film, powder, RIP settings, and heat press settings, you can produce designs for cotton, polyester, blends, T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, uniforms, workwear, and many other textile products.
Aurora runs OMTech Print / Honsonsoft RIP software on a compatible Windows computer. The RIP software prepares your artwork, color channels, and white ink layer for DTF printing. Mac users will need access to a Windows system to operate the printer software.
For more consistent print quality and maintenance performance, OMTech recommends using compatible DTF textile ink, PET transfer film, hot melt powder, moisturizing liquid, and cleaning supplies. Incompatible third-party consumables may affect color output, ink flow, maintenance performance, or warranty eligibility.
